Assistant Store Manager

Our client is a highly successful fashion retailer, who are currently experiencing significant growth, making them a market leader. They are currently looking for a driven Deputy Store Manager to join their team

Job Role:

  • Maximise and maintain Branch profitability in order to achieve and exceed targets to enhance the Company’s position on the High Street
  • Recruit, select, train and develop exceptional staff whilst ensuring that team members deliver outstanding customer service a tall times
  • Lead and manage branch staff in a manner that encourages excellent performance and the achievement of Organisational and personal goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Company Visual Merchandising and Store standards to achieve a strong brand image
  • Increase staff performance, retention and loyalty through the provision of regular training and development
  • Monitor and assess staff performance, offering guidance, coaching or counselling where necessary
  • Monitor and control wages, stockloss, petty cash in accordance with set targets to increase profitability and meet business objectives
  • Recruit and select high calibre staff who represent the Brand and will contribute to the development of a customer focused environment
  • Develop and implement business and succession plans to ensure the continued success of the store and team members
  • Complete regular stock takes to increase accountability and create a greater understanding of stock control issues
  • Maintain maximum stock availability through effective use of replenishment and commercial reports
  • Undertake additional tasks as required

Key Attributes

  • Evidence of high level numerical and written abilities
  • Previous experience in the coaching and development of others
  • Evidence of previous visual merchandising/commercial skills
  • Demonstrate ability to control expenses, stock loss, costs and return on sales
  • Proven record for driving sales forward
  • Excellent customer service skills and focus
  • Knowledge of retail and employment law
  • Previous experience in the recruitment and selection of exceptional staff
  • Demonstrated awareness of fashion and the fashion industry
  • Proven ability to develop and implement succession plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trends
  • Exceptional leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capacity
  • Capacity to act in a proactive manner
